Teddyfone - First Child’s Safety Phone !

Child safety is on every parents mind and at Mobilesplease we have the answer. The Teddyfone is the first phone specifically designed for child safety, with over 78 % of children admitting they felt safer with a mobile phone it seems like we could be onto a new craze. Made in the shape of a teddy bear and fully controlled by the parent it will put your mind to rest, plus we doubt many robbers will be on the hunt for a teddy shaped phone !

With limited functionality it is simple, safe and looks like a teddy so its perfect for children from age 3 and up. When the phone is turned on it the led lights in the ears flash as they do when there is an incoming call. This is fantastic as it makes it look even more like a light up toy plus with a height 97mm and width 62mm it is small enough for a child’s palm. It evens come with a cute carrying case which can be placed around the child’s neck so it won’t get lost too easily.

This phone has took every aspect of a child’s safety into account with great features such as-

•    No Screen – meaning children can’t download inappropriate images, ringtones or games and cant be sent them either

•    Only 4 Buttons – These four buttons can be pre-programmed with 4 numbers, mum & Dad and then the other 2 buttons likely to be grandparents and a friend. These provide quick access to stay in touch with the family, avoid misdialling and allow parents to limit call costs.

In Carrying Case

In Carrying Case

•    Child Monitor - a parent activated child monitor is set up by a silent ring tone to the teddyfone which allows the parents to listen to whatever is going on around the child without them knowing.

•    SOS Button – The SOS buttons which are positioned on either side of the teddy when pressed send a emergency message to 3 pre-programmed numbers and enable the one parent to listen to what going on around the child using the Child Monitor.

•    Child Tracking –With GPRS tracking, this allows you to locate you child wherever they are with just a touch of a button.

All these great features are pre-programmed by sending SMS from another mobile phone by simply texting the details of numbers/SOS contacts etc, only allowing authorised users to change these settings. The phone uses Mobile phone technology but thanks to the low emissions it is ten times more eco friendly than any other conventional mobile phone.

The Teddyfone comes Sim free supporting all major networks including T-mobile, Orange and 3 mobile. This also allows parents to cut call costs, for example take advantage of the free calls if both parent and child have Vodafone Sim cards.

It’s safe, basic and extremely cute plus it won’t harm your child health thanks to low emissions, is this what parents everywhere have been looking for…. Would you feel safe at home knowing your child was out alone with this high safety phone?

LG Mobile Prada II

It’s been made official, the LG Prada II mobile phone will bigger ,better plus have a QWERTY keyboard.
Branching out into the smart phone market will be challenging with great handsets already out there such as the Samsung i780 and this new handset is rumoured to cost a lot more than these! Is it worth the money?
Since LG announced that sales of the LG Prada phone crossed one million units last month, mobile enthusiasts expect the second phone in the range to be even better. The k850 has great looks, a great brand behind it and it was the first mobile handset to use full touch screens so the new version will no doubt be fantastic.
The QWERTY keyboard is a first for LG and the silver keyboard with on-screen, call and hang-up buttons with other features including 3G compatibility, a full HTML browser and a 5 megapixel camera.
The drawbacks of the LG Prada I were that it had no 3G compatibility or Wi-Fi and it looks like LG have learned from their mistakes and added these to the new design.
Although very stylish, it is pretty costly at 600 Euros (approx £350) but rumour has it that the Prada designer will get more involved with LG this time around helping out with everything from the design to the ringtones. Although images aren’t out yet this is what we think it will look like judging from the press release.

Set to be released by the end of the year the Prada II is sure to be another great outcome from the collaboration between the experts. Check out the LG k850 Prada with great mobile phone from

Crackberry Blackberry Secrets

The web is an invaluable source for the latest mobile information and we picked up some gossip from www.crackberry.com.

Wireless Device Company and developer of Blackberry handsets RIM (Research in Motion) are at risk of being bought out by Microsoft. These rumours turn up now and again but will this actually happen this time?

The timing couldn’t be more perfect for Microsoft with RIM’s share prices at an all time low (along with everything else) so this would make the company even better and even stronger.

Four months ago RIM shares were worth about $148 and now they are trading at around a mere $62 today. Would Microsoft have a good position to buy the shares at $50 a share?

This may affect the sales of blackberry, would you still buy a Blackberry handset if it was run on Windows mobile….?

In this depths of the credit crunch this may be a gift for RIM !

O2’s Mobile Wallet Theft

O2 have revealed the results of the first NFC (near field communication) trial which will allow consumers to pay for things using the wireless power of their mobiles.
The trial which took place between November 2007 and May 2008 tested whether replacing important cards such as credit cards, oyster cards etc would work on the Nokia 6131 with NFC.
Deemed to revolutionise the retail market will this just expand the 79% of mobile user’s expenditure?
NFC is a short-range high frequency wireless communication technology which enables the exchange of data between devices which would mean transferring your details (payment) to the retailer in store.
O2 want all major banks and card schemes on board to make this a success along with 2 or 3 retailers backing them. With a mass market this could be a real hit for O2 benefits are ease of use & convenience. Short comings included having no ability to view your account details and lack of security with no pin device in use.
Although this seems like a good idea wouldn’t this make a thief’s job easier, instead of stealing your mobile and wallet they have access to your funds and mobile phone in one sweep.

LG Prada Ke850 Review

Want to be Ahead Of the fashion pack? Then get your hands on LG and Prada collaboration presenting the Ke850. Sleek, sophisticated and elegant.
With an Avante garde design the LG Prada has sparked a long line of collaborations between the mobile and fashion world  such as Dolce & Gabbana with Motorola, Julian Mcdonald with Sony Ericsson and Cath Kidston with Nokia.
With a stunning simplistic touch screen only shell can the Prada phone really fight of competitions from the latest phones on the market?
At the heart of the phone is a comprehensive set of software all crammed into this lightweight handset of 85 grams. With a multimedia player playing MP3, AAC,WMA and RealAudio sound files plus playback on widescreen video clips .
The camera is fantastic down to the Schneider Kreuznach lens – they manufacture pretty much every lens for Kodak so if it’s good enough for them the Lg Ke850 should take some great pictures.
The drawbacks include no 3g or WIFI support, little memory of 8MB so a memory card would be needed for downloading and as it’s only a Tri band GSM phone it is unlikely to crack the US at the moment.
It seems LG Prada Ke850 is not just a brand stuck on the handset, it is actually a really good handset plus its biggest advantage is that it will be all around the world very soon.

Step into the world of virtual with your Mobile !

A Virtual world on your Mobile phones? The craze was started by Second Life who designed a 3-D virtual world which since opening to the public in 2003, it has now gained millions of residents from all around the world.

With the 3D virtual world Second Life you can take the form of an avatar and do all sorts of things such as buy things, chat to people or just walk around?

Now this phenomenon is taking on the mobile phone market! The virtual world is a hang out place and this could take off in the mobile world for chat and social activities.

Japanese company Eitarosoft have jumped on the bandwagon early by creating a mobile online virtual world called Lamity. It is in the stages of being preloaded onto mobile phones with makers Sony Ericsson, Sharp and NEC taking part. There are further plans in the pipeline such as 3-D games for users and lots more online shop where you can spend virtual money…which then ends up on your phone bill at the end of the month.

But you may ask what the point is? Is it just another distraction?

In the virtual world things happen that would never happen in the real world? You can experience a hurricane or explore a Van Gogh painting….if you want to that is!

Virtual mobile may be a good idea for interacting in the video game world but as for social networking I think mobile phones provide enough communication.

A cheaper phone to help save the planet?

Wondering why the experts are complaining that to much is going to waste? A recent article in the UK daily newspaper The Independent suggested that there are already 11,000 tons of unused cellular phones in the UK that have not yet been disposed of

Most of these phones will eventually be discarded, due to the rise of cheap mobiles, along with old laptops, portable music players and video game consoles. These electronic products are all made with highly toxic metals and other chemicals that invariably leach into the earth when discarded. In fact, thousands of tons of electronic waste already do reach landfills each year as users upgrade to new mobile phones and discard the old ones.

At the same time, says the newspaper, an estimated one billion mobile phones are sold worldwide each year, with a staggering one million of them each day being Nokia handsets. Of course, most cellular phone service providers promise a free new handset for anyone who signs up and, while many companies offer to recycle used mobile phones, the vast majority of such phones are still thrown away with the general rubbish. Upgrade annually – perhaps every 18 months depending on the contract – and that is a lot of handsets thrown into black bin liners with the potato peelings.

Some 100 million people upgrade to new phones each year in Europe alone, even though the average handset has a life of five years. But would you want to hang on to your 1 megapixel dinosaur when the average camera phone is fast approaching five megapixels?

To encourage phone reuse, at least one provider, Green Mobile, asks new customers to keep using their old handset and rewards them with a lower rate offered by companies who subsidise new phones each year. Green Mobile, in partnership with the Woodland Trust and Friends of the Earth, has created the UK’s first environmentally friendly mobile phone service.

E-waste is entering public consciousness one way or another. The so-called WEEE Directive, for example, is EU-imposed regulations on manufacturers and distributors to dispose of electrical and electronic goods in a prescribed fashion (at designated disposal sites) or face fines. Maybe, as food and fuel prices soar, the prevalence of recycled phones is will grow and become as much a fashion statement as the latest Armani- or Lg Prada handset.

Researcher ABI estimates that these factors, in addition to shorter handset replacement cycles and a growing demand for cheaper phones will cause the global recycled handset market to be worth $3 billion by 2012, with recycled phone shipments numbering above 100 million.

Just as many people’s transport habits began to change dramatically with the rise in fuel prices at the pumps this summer, maybe it’s time for a back to basics approach to mobiles: a mobile phone as an instrument for making and receiving calls and texts, with a bit of snapshot-taking and Web browsing thrown in if you really need it.
