If you are looking for a new smartphone but you don’t want to spend out on the latest flagship models what are your options? Budget smartphones don’t have to be something to fear, many come with great features and some top tech so here we take a look at the best cheap smartphones available today.

The HTC Desire 510 gives you 4G speed on a budget and with a quad-core processor, 1GB RAM and Android KitKat on board you get lots of good stuff on this affordable smartphone. The 4.7-inch touchscreen display is decent enough for web browsing and the 5-megapixel camera on the back is good for taking snaps.
Acer Liquid E3
The Acer brand may not be first on your list when looking for a new phone but the manufacturer has packed lots of good stuff into this phone. The 4.7-inch screen is responsive and Android 4.2.2 is on board as well as a quad-core processor and 1GB RAM. The camera is a decent 13-megapixel lens on the back and a front facing 2-megapixel one and both include LED flashes so the image results are good with this phone.
Microsoft Lumia 535
This Windows Phone 8.1 budget phone has a fun design that comes in a range of bright colours and includes familiar apps such as Skype, Microsoft Office and Outlook. There are two 5-megapixel cameras on the back and front and the front camera captures wide angle shots so you can get lots of people into the shot. There is no 4G on this phone but you get HSDPA/ 3.5G and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and of course the price makes up for that.
Motorola Moto E (2015)
This is one of the most affordable phones to ship with Android 5.0 on board so you get the latest Google innovations on a budget. 4G connectivity is on board for fast browsing and downloading and there is a 4.5-inch display and 1GB RAM. The front facing camera is only a VGA lens so if selfies are important this may not be the best affordable smartphone for you but the 5-megapixel camera on the back captures good shots.
Sony Xperia M2
